Soap Box Derby

So here is a layout that I worked on while Sadie was napping on the couch on Thursday. I left work early to pick her up and decided that I would be productive! I wanted to work on a layout that had the banner for the title and had seen it done by my sister-in-law Jody, so I decided to give it a try. Take a look!

(1) 4x6, (4) 2x2, (1) 2x4

Here's the banner. Instead of using adhesive, I chose to use
brads. I took the string and wrapped it around the brad on
both ends and the used one in the center to separate
the words in the title.

I typed the story out onto a coordinating paper and cut them into strips.

Last weekend I had purchased the Basic Grey's Sweet Threads collection. I love this collection, it's so cute and girly!

Birthday Cards

Here are a couple birthday cards I have made within the last few weeks. Enjoy!

This one I made using the October Afternoon Collection.
This card I gave to my sister-in-law Jody for her Birthday.

This one is made with the Basic Grey Lemonade Collection.
This card I gave to a co-worker for her birthday.

I was happy to hear that both, Jody and my co-worker, loved their cards!
Check back later this week for more cards/layouts I have created!

Cards

Here are a few cards that I made for Father's Day. I didn't get a chance to post them yesterday as we were out visiting our father's! Over the last year, I have been making more cards for special occasions. I think they are more personable and I enjoy doing it!
Anyhow....Enjoy!

The line of paper I used was Basic Grey's Oliver collection. I happened to have a 6x6 paper stack from last year. I really like these cards and I am proud of myself!

mm...good!

Just thought I would share a layout that I did a couple months ago while I was at Archivers scrap mania. I just love this layout and it was super easy. The photo's were taken by my sister-in-law Jody when Sadie was over there a couple years ago playing with her cousin's. Sadie was about 3 years old in the pictures.

The journaling states:
"Sadie's face and hands shows how much she loves eating spaghetti!
She likes to SLURP the noodles one by one.
~2008~

Sadie just LOVES spaghetti and she gets so excited when I tell her that's what we are having for supper! mm...good!

Thanks for taking the time to look!

Kindergarten Activity Day

Yesterday was Sadie's Activity Day for Kindergarten. The school planned a whole day filled with fun! They had jumping castles, an obstacle course, tug-o-war, movie time, lunch, and much more! I had the opportunity to join Sadie for lunch, watch Toy Story 3 for a few minutes and then we headed outside for the obstacle coarse.

After they were given directions by one of the teachers and shown a demonstration by a High School helper, each kid got a turn to try the obstacle course.

And then it was Sadie's turn! Off she goes!
First through the tunnel.....

Then leap over a yellow barricade (foam of course), step through the yellow rings, then through another tunnel.....

Go over the mountain....

On the balancing beam....oops she fell!!! LOL

Then over the noodles to the finish line!

What a great day she had!!!

Here is a picture of her with a couple of her friends in her class

I am so proud of you Sadie! You are "Almost a 1st Grader"!!!!!
